Degus come from the lowlands of Chile, where they live in large groups that make their homes in rocks or brush. Degus are found in almost every climate except at very high elevations. Degu usually nest and store food under rocks in their home areas. In the wild, Degus can live up to 15 years. They are very sweet and won't bite unless threatened or injured, and can be trained to live up to their names.
