Κινέζικο Ορτύκι (Coturnix chinensis)

SKU: 600126

The common quail (scientific name: Coturnix) is a medium to small bird of the pheasant family. It is found in several areas of Europe. It should not be confused with the Japanese quail which, although similar in appearance, lives in Asia and has different habits. It is a small bird, with a round body, brown in color with a white stripe near the eyes. It is about twenty centimeters long and weighs about one hundred grams.

The species is walking and feeds on seeds and insects that it finds on the ground. It is difficult to see when it hides in crops and foliage and avoids flying, preferring to walk.
