ΚΑΝΑΡΙΝΙ Japan Hoso Αρσενικό
The Japan Hoso (also known as the "Japanese Humpback") is a distinctive and refined breed of canary—classified as a "type" or "form" canary—that was developed in Japan during the 1920s. Its name is derived from the Japanese word *Hosei*, which means "thin" or "slender." As a pet, a male Japan Hoso is an excellent choice for those who appreciate lively, elegant songbirds with plenty of personality. The "Crescent Moon" Posture: Its most striking feature is its body posture. When perched, it adopts a curved, arched stance reminiscent of a crescent moon, with its shoulders held high, its neck extended forward, and its tail curving slightly inward. Tiny Size: It is one of the smallest canary breeds in the world, reaching a maximum length of 11.5 centimeters. Its song is pleasant and softer in volume compared to that of other canaries. It is an incredibly active, spirited, and energetic little bird; it enjoys constantly hopping from perch to perch, all the while showcasing its characteristic "humpbacked" posture. Like most canaries, it is a bird meant for observation. It does not enjoy being petted or held (after all, it has a very small and delicate skeleton). However, it will keep you company with its liveliness and movements. ...More
Cage: Due to its high level of activity, it requires a cage with sufficient space for flying. Perches should be positioned at a height and distance that encourage the bird to adopt its characteristic, curved posture.
Diet: It requires a high-quality seed mix for canaries, fresh washed vegetables (e.g., broccoli, spinach), and fruit. Additionally, providing a source of calcium (cuttlebone) and allowing for frequent bathing in a dedicated bird bath are essential.
Life Expectancy: With proper care, a Japan Hoso can live for 7 to 12 years.
